As we shared earlier this year, Kiel’s newest business support program is the Revitalization Loan program that is designed to help grow and expand businesses and enhance the Riverwalk District. Based on feedback, we are providing you with additional program details to help you determine if this can assist your business.
  • Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis as the fund balance allows. To be considered at the next committee meeting, your application needs to be submitted by August 13th. The review committee will continue to meet monthly as applications are received.
  • Businesses that have been in existence for a year or more can submit an abbreviated business plan and application. Please contact Progress Lakeshore at 920-482-0540 or info@progresslakeshore.org for assistance. The full application can be found on the City’s website or by clicking here.
  • This program can be coupled with our existing Façade Loan program and the Riverwalk District’s Sign Grant to maximize the benefit to your business.
  • The full details of Revitalization Loan program can be found on the City’s website and here.
We are excited to support new and expanding businesses in the community! Businesses and property owners interested in learning more are encouraged to contact the City Administrator, David Funkhouser, at 920-894-2909 and David.Funkhouser@kielwi.gov.

Sincerely,

The City of Kiel is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded $60,000 through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s (WEDC) Small Business Development Grant (SBDG) program, part of an initiative led by Gov. Tony Evers and WEDC to uplift small business development across the state.

The City will use the grant to capitalize the Kiel Downtown Economic Revitalization Loan Program.  The funding is available in this program to help small businesses in the Kiel Riverwalk District grow and expand by providing low-interest loans for building improvements, technology, financial support and more to enhance their success.

Additional funding from the City of Kiel will also be made available for businesses outside of the Riverwalk District.
